Recently with one of our major clients, Robillard Hearing Centres, we have had the opportunity to enhance their waiting room experience with some digital signage driven by Android devices.
Given that we now support the client in several aspects of their media presence this was a logical extension to our services – and it allows Markus & Jon to practice their tinkering.
Currently the signs display the current promotions and videos of the latest ads on TV, but we are expanding what we can display (if it passes testing) by developing custom slides driven from dynamic data. The wifi enabled devices that drive the televisions handle it like a champ!
The slide below is driven from the Yahoo weather API and laid out using a Bootstrap 3 responsive layout to ensure it will resize correctly on either 720p or 1080p displays. Fun stuff!
